How far in advance should we book a corporate event venue in Toronto?
For 100+ guests, three to six months is typical, and December dates often book six to nine months out. Smaller meeting rooms can usually be secured within a few weeks. If your date is fixed — an AGM or fiscal year-end — lock the venue before anything else, then build catering and AV around it.
What's the difference between a banquet hall and a conference centre?
Banquet halls are built around dinners: in-house catering, dance floors, and per-person food-and-drink pricing. Conference centres are built around meetings: plenary and breakout rooms, built-in AV, and day-delegate rates that bundle the room with lunch and coffee breaks. Choose by your event's main activity, not its size.
Do Toronto venues let us bring our own caterer?
Many banquet halls require their in-house kitchen, while lofts, galleries and industrial spaces usually welcome outside caterers — sometimes from an approved list, sometimes with a fee. Always confirm before booking the caterer, and ask about kitchen access, since some raw spaces have none.
What does a food and beverage minimum mean?
It's the amount your group must spend on catering and bar for the venue to waive or reduce the room fee. If your spend falls short, you pay the difference. Minimums rise for Friday and Saturday nights and throughout December, so ask for the minimum on your specific date.
Are there good corporate venues outside downtown Toronto?
